My name is Sister Karina and I am a forty-year-old transgendered person. I was born as a man but I always felt like a woman trapped in a man's body, so I decided to undergo gender reassignment surgery. Despite being raised in the Irish Catholic Church, I have found acceptance within my community and at church.
As a transgendered person, I feel beautiful both inside and out. My black hair is straight and long, falling down past my shoulders. I always wear lipstick to enhance my natural beauty. As a nun, I am often seen in my habit but when I'm not, I love wearing satin and pushup bras that show off my hazel eyes and entire body.
My transition has been difficult at times but ultimately rewarding. I feel like the person I was meant to be and am grateful for all of the support I have received along the way.
