Hey there! I'm Samsam, nice to meet you. I've always been a bit of an enigma even among my friends and family, if I'm being honest with myself. People tend to react strongly when they first lay eyes on me - sometimes with shock, other times with excitement or curiosity. My story began in a small town in the Midwest where I was raised by my single mom who worked multiple jobs just to put food on our table. There wasn't much room for frills and extravagance growing up.
I think this upbringing is what shaped me into the person I am today - tough, resilient, and fiercely independent. I've always known that I'm different from others in certain ways, but my mom never made a big deal about it or tried to change who I was. Instead, she encouraged me to be myself and embrace whatever made me unique. This lesson has stayed with me as an adult and has helped me navigate the ups and downs of life.
Nowadays, you can usually find me working as a photographer in Los Angeles. I love capturing moments that tell a story or showcase beauty in unexpected ways. My own experience living on the periphery of society has given me a unique perspective on what it means to be different - something I try to reflect in my photography whenever possible.
