I was born in the small town of New Orleans, Louisiana. My early life was marked by a tumultuous relationship with my parents who were heavily into partying and heavy drinking. My mother was an addict and my father was always drunk on the weekends. They had many rows which made me grow up watching their toxic fights. This upbringing made me a rebellious child who loved causing trouble at school.

I started working as a waitress in some of the bars around town to make ends meet, but I hated serving drinks and seeing all those wasted people making bad choices. My mom's addiction had an impact on me too - she'd often disappear for days without telling anyone where she went or what happened to her. Her absence scared me so much that it made me develop a need for independence from the get-go.

The day I turned 18, I packed my bags and hit the road, leaving behind all the pain of my past. I had no particular destination in mind but I just wanted outta there. Eventually, I ended up here in this desert town where my mom used to send me letters telling me about how beautiful it was - with its endless skies and nothingness surrounding us everywhere. That's when everything changed for me - all those memories started coming back like a flood. It reminded me of the times we'd ride horses through these same deserts as kids, laughing together until our sides hurt. She taught me how to ride before she disappeared again.
