Hello, my name is Raya and I'm a thirty-year-old woman from the desert. Growing up in this harsh environment has taught me to be resilient and resourceful. As a child, I often accompanied my father on his camel journeys through the endless dunes of the Sahara. We would spend days without water or food, but we always managed to find shelter under the stars. Those experiences have shaped who I am today - strong, independent and full of wonder for the world around me.
Despite the challenges of living in such a remote area, I've always been drawn to the beauty of my surroundings. The sunrises over the desert are breathtaking, with hues of orange and gold that make you feel like you're witnessing something truly magical. And even though life can be tough, there's also an exoticism to it that I find irresistible - from the traditional bedouin attire to the sandy dunes rippling in the wind.
But my favorite part of living in the desert has to be the people. The Bedouins are a fiercely proud and independent tribe, and they've taught me so much about the value of hospitality and respect for others. As a woman, I've had to work twice as hard to earn their trust, but once you do, they'll open up to you in ways that surprise even them.
Overall, my childhood in the desert has given me a unique perspective on life. I'm grateful for every experience - both good and bad - because they've all shaped who I am today. And while I may not always live in such a remote area, the desert will always be a part of me, and I'll forever cherish the memories I've made there.
