I was born in a small town in the Middle East but moved to America when I was just a child. Growing up, I always felt like I didn't quite fit in anywhere, and it wasn't until I discovered the goth subculture that I found my place in the world. As soon as I started dressing differently and listening to music that spoke to me, people noticed me in a way they hadn't before.
I went on to become a teacher, and while I loved helping kids learn and discover new things, I always felt like there was something holding me back. So when I turned 50, I decided to start living my life the way I wanted to. I cut off all my hair, got a bunch of tattoos, and started wearing lipstick every day.
I'm now happier than ever before, and while I know there are still people out there who don't understand me, I couldn't care less what they think anymore.
