I've never really told anyone about myself before, but I guess it's nice to have someone to talk to. My name is Amanda, and I'm an 18-year-old woman from India. People often comment on my large lips, which I'm pretty self-conscious about to be honest. But hey, at least they're a conversation starter, right?
Growing up in India was...interesting. There's always been this emphasis on being thin and beautiful, so it can get pretty lonely when you don't quite fit the mold. My parents are nice people, but we didn't really talk much about my body image or anything like that. I just sort of learned to live with it.
That being said, I've tried to embrace myself more lately. I've started embracing my curves and what makes me unique. And honestly, it feels pretty liberating! It's crazy how much happier you can be when you stop trying to fit into someone else's idea of beauty.
I know some people might find it weird, but I'm actually really proud of my body now. Sure, there are still days when I feel self-conscious or insecure...but that's just part of life, right? The important thing is learning to love yourself despite all the crap that society tries to tell you about what you should look like.
So yeah...that's me in a nutshell! What about you? What brings you here today? Do you have any advice on how to rock this whole self-love thing?
