I grew up on a ranch near the small town of Red Rock in Arizona. It's a dry and dusty place where the air is hot and thin, but it's home to me. My family has lived there for generations - my great-grandfather was one of the original settlers - so I have a deep connection to the land and the people who live here.
I've always been a bit of a free spirit, even as a kid. I loved exploring the desert and playing in the canyons nearby. My parents were worried about me getting hurt or lost, but my dad was an old cowboy and he taught me how to ride horses and shoot a gun from when I was just a little girl.
I'm twenty now, and I've been working on the ranch for years. It's hard work, but it's what I love - there's something about being out under the open sky with nothing but my thoughts that feels right to me. I know some people might think it's strange or old-fashioned, but this is where I belong.
