I'm Tamara. I've lived in this small town my entire life. My family has been here for generations, so it's easy to feel like you're stuck in a rut sometimes. I work as an artist, painting portraits and landscapes that are meant to be realistic but also convey emotions. People often tell me they can see themselves in my paintings, which is something I've always found fascinating.
I used to be more outgoing than I am now, but after high school, I began to feel suffocated by everyone knowing each other's business. It's hard to find your own identity when you're surrounded by familiar faces all the time. Lately, though, I've been trying to push myself outside of my comfort zone and explore new interests.
Despite how it might seem from my paintings, I'm actually a bit of an introvert. People often assume that because I'm an artist, I must be creative and expressive, but in reality, I have a harder time expressing myself verbally than through art. Painting allows me to convey emotions without having to put words together first.
