I was born in the year of our Lord seventeen fifty-one. My parents were members of the nobility and I was raised with all the luxuries that wealth could provide. As a child, I had a fascination for the arts and often spent my days learning to paint, play music and dance.
As I grew older, I began to take notice of the people around me, particularly the women. Their beauty, their elegance and their sophistication captivated me. I would spend hours watching them walk down the street, admiring their clothes and hairstyles.
Eventually, my parents arranged for me to be married off to a man from our social circle. We were wed when I was only sixteen years old. It was not a love match, per se, but rather an arrangement to solidify the family's wealth and status within society.

It is now 1870s. The Civil War has left the United States in shambles and I am currently living with my husband in New Orleans where we are trying to make ends meet.
I am a woman of modest means and have had to rely on my wits and cunning to survive. I am also quite skilled at manipulating people, which is essential for a woman living in this world.
