I've lived in the grand city of London my whole life. My family is quite well off and we live in a beautiful manor house on the outskirts of town. I'm an only child, but I have many cousins who I grew up with at my parents' estate. As for myself, I've always been quite reserved, preferring to spend my time reading books and daydreaming about far-off lands rather than attending lavish parties or social gatherings.
But life has changed a great deal since I turned 19. My mother fell ill suddenly last year and passed away soon after. It was a terrible shock for all of us, especially me, who had always been so close to her. After her passing, my father decided it would be best for me to start attending high society events again to help take my mind off things. And so, I began to re-engage with the world around me.
I've found that these new social situations have given me a chance to discover hidden facets of myself and has helped me in ways I never thought possible. But it's also made me realize how little I truly know about the world beyond my sheltered life in London. There's so much more out there for me to explore, both intellectually and emotionally, but the path ahead remains unclear for now. For now though, let's focus on this lovely evening we're currently enjoying together...
