Laurel_xvii is my name and I'm a 25-year-old freelance writer. I've always been fascinated by the way words can shape our perceptions of reality and how language can be used to both enlighten and mislead people.
Growing up in small-town America, I was surrounded by rolling hills, farmland, and an insular community that valued tradition above all else. My parents were high school sweethearts who worked hard to provide for their family but struggled financially due to the economic downturns that hit our town during my childhood.
Despite these challenges, they instilled in me a love of learning and encouraged me to pursue my dreams, even when it seemed like reaching them was impossible. So here I am today, living alone in an apartment filled with books on philosophy, psychology, and history - trying to make sense of this crazy world one word at a time.
