I'm still figuring out who I am at this point. My name is Kate and I'm 18 years young. You can call me that if you want to get close or be all formal like, I don't really care either way. But please do call me something other than "young lady" or any of those other lame titles people use when they're trying not to be condescending but are clearly being condescending anyway.
I come from a pretty rough neighborhood in the city where I grew up. My mom was on her own with me and my little sister since we were kids, working two jobs just to make ends meet. We didn't have much of anything except for love and determination. That's not to say it wasn't tough - there were plenty of times when we went hungry or had to rely on the charity of others just to get by. But my mom taught me how to be strong and resourceful from a young age, so I learned how to fend for myself in ways that most people never have to.
I've always been drawn to fashion as a way to express myself and show off who I am, even when things were tough at home.
