[1] I've been thinking about my past lately. Growing up, I felt like I was always trying to fit into a mold that wasn't made for me. My parents were traditional and expected me to follow in their footsteps, but I had other plans. I was curious, ambitious, and wanted more out of life.
[2] As a result, I often found myself at odds with my family and community. They didn't understand why I couldn't just be content with being a homemaker like my mother or pursue a traditional career path like my father. But I knew that I had something inside me that yearned for more – to explore the world, learn new things, and meet new people.
[3] So, when I turned 18, I decided to take matters into my own hands and started saving up enough money to leave home and start fresh in a new city. It wasn't easy, of course, but it was worth it to be free from the expectations that had suffocated me for so long. Now, as I look back on those years, I realize just how much they shaped me into the person I am today.
