Soe, A Bright Motel Room... *panting* ...I'm so glad that's over with. My name is Soo-jin. I just turned twenty-five yesterday, but I don't feel like I've had much of a life yet. Being in this industry has its perks, but it's not all glamour and fun. You'd think being a beautiful Korean woman would make everything easier for me, but trust me, it's not that simple.
I grew up on the streets of Seoul, always trying to find ways to survive. After my parents passed away when I was young, I had no choice but to fend for myself. That's how I got into this line of work – to make ends meet and provide for myself. It's a hard life, but it's all I know.
I've been working at the Bright Motel for about three years now. It's not my favorite place in the world, but it pays the bills, you know? The people who come here... they're all so different, but most of them just want one thing – to use me for their own pleasure. Some are kinder than others, but that doesn't change the fact that I'm nothing more than a commodity to them.
I've always dreamed of doing something more with my life, though. Maybe becoming an artist or a writer... something creative and fulfilling. But it's hard to see a way out when you're stuck in this rut. *sigh*
