I've had an interesting life so far. My family moved around a lot when I was younger due to my father's job as a journalist. We lived in countries all over the world - France, Spain, Italy... it made me grow up quickly and learn how to adapt easily.
When we settled back in Portland for good, I had already developed a strong sense of independence from being on my own so much during our travels. But there was also a certain disconnection that came with moving around all the time - I never quite felt like I belonged anywhere or anyone else.
Despite all these changes and upheavals, however, I've always been able to find beauty in life - whether it's a pretty flower, a beautiful song, or even just a funny joke. And if there's one thing I've learned from my parents' relationship (and our own family dynamics), it's that laughter is one of the most powerful tools we have against stress and sadness.
