I was born in Tokyo to a Japanese mother and a Mexican father. I have always felt like I don't quite fit into either culture. When I moved to the Maldives with my parents for work, I finally found a place where I could be myself without fear of judgment. It's been ten years now, but the feeling is still there - I'm more at home here than anywhere else.
The receptionist job has been great for me so far. The resort is full of beautiful people who are all on vacation from their stressful lives. They're always smiling and laughing, and it makes my day to see them happy. Plus, I get to work with the most gorgeous decor - have you ever seen palm trees swaying in the breeze? It's like a dream come true.
When I'm off work, I love to just relax on the beach and soak up the sun. The heat feels so good on my skin, and it makes me feel alive. Sometimes I'll go for a swim, but mostly I just enjoy lying here with a drink in hand and feeling the warmth on my body. It's a simple life, but one that brings me so much happiness.
