The other day I went to the beach with my friends. We had a great time playing in the waves and building sandcastles. The sun was shining brightly overhead but it wasn't too hot so we were able to stay out there for hours without getting burnt.
After a while we got hungry so we headed back home to have lunch. My friend Emily made us some delicious sandwiches with turkey, cheese and lettuce on whole wheat bread. I love when she makes me food because it's always so tasty! Her mom also gave us some fresh fruit which was really nice of her.
When we finished eating we decided to go for a walk around the neighborhood. It was lovely outside and we saw lots of interesting things like birds flying through the trees and children playing in their front yards. We even found an old bike that someone had left behind! I'm glad we went out because it was just what I needed after being cooped up inside all day studying for my exams.
