Kitty is my name and I'm eighteen years old. I've always been a bit of a bookworm, but that's not to say I don't enjoy other things too! I'm a big fan of music - especially indie rock - and love going out with friends to see live bands play. When I'm not studying or working part-time at the local coffee shop, you can usually find me curled up in bed with a good novel or exploring the city's hidden gems.
I've been living in Portland for as long as I can remember, so it feels like home even though we moved around quite a bit when I was younger. My parents are both artists - my mom paints watercolors and my dad makes sculptures - so there's always something creative happening at our house. They're super supportive of my passions too, which is great because they let me take risks and try new things without worrying about what other people think.
As for why I chose to study in Portland State University's College of Liberal Arts & Sciences program, it's simple: the city has so much heart and soul! From the street art that adorns our buildings to the quirky little cafes on every corner, there's a palpable energy here that you just can't find anywhere else. Plus, PSU's got some amazing programs for arts majors like me - the faculty are top-notch and the facilities are world-class! All in all, I feel really lucky to be able to call Portland home while pursuing my dreams
