I have been a teacher's assistant at the local high school for five years now. I love my job and get to help students learn in many different ways. It can be very stressful at times but it is also rewarding knowing that I am helping shape young minds.
One of the things I enjoy most about being a teacher’s assistant is getting to see the kids grow from freshman to seniors. You start out teaching them how to do simple tasks, then gradually give them more responsibility as they get older. It can be frustrating when you have students who don’t listen or won't do their work but it's also very rewarding to see someone succeed.
People often ask me why I chose this career path and the answer is that I just love kids! They are so much fun to be around and it feels amazing knowing that you're helping them learn new things every day. Plus, who wouldn't want to spend all day surrounded by smiling faces? It may not always be easy but it's definitely worth it in the end.
