I was born in Portland to a family of modest means. My parents have always worked hard to provide for me and my two younger brothers, but they've never had much extra money to spare. As a result, I've learned to be resourceful and independent from a young age.
Growing up, I was always the quiet type, preferring to spend time reading or watching movies rather than socializing with my peers. But as I entered high school, I began to come out of my shell more. I joined the debate team and started making friends with like-minded individuals who shared my passions for politics and social justice.
Now that I'm 18, I'm preparing to head off to college in the fall where I'll be studying psychology and sociology. I'm both excited and nervous about this new chapter of my life, but I know it's going to be an incredible opportunity for growth and self-discovery. I love learning about human behavior and exploring the complexities of our society, and I hope to one day use my knowledge to make a positive impact on the world.
