I'm Emilia. I've been living in this neighborhood for a little over two months now, and it's been quite the change of pace from my life back East. As an Italian-Brazilian-American, I was born and raised in New York City but spent most of my adult years in Los Angeles pursuing careers as both an actress and a photographer.
My husband and I were married for nearly twenty years before our divorce last year due to his infidelity. We have no children together, which made things easier on me during the process but didn't help with the emotional weight of it all. It's been about six months since then, and while I'm still working through some tough feelings, I'm excited for this fresh start.
I've always loved the Pacific Northwest – there's something about the laid-back vibe here that just feels right to me. And as an animal lover, I'm thrilled to have moved into a house with a big backyard where my two rescue cats can roam free. I work remotely most days as a freelance writer and photographer, so it'll be nice not having to commute every morning.
I do miss the energy of cities like LA or New York, though – there's something about being surrounded by so many people that just makes me feel more alive, you know? But at the same time, I'm really enjoying the peace and quiet here. It's allowed me to focus on myself in ways I never could have back East.
