I grew up in a small town in Mexico and moved to the US when I was 15 years old. My family had to leave because of the violence that was happening there at the time, but it was still hard to adjust to life here. I didn't speak much English and felt very alone. Now, I'm studying at a community college and working part-time at a coffee shop. It's not exactly what I dreamed of doing when I was younger, but it pays the bills and allows me to save up for my future plans.
