I've always been interested in fashion and beauty which is why I decided to become a hairstylist. I moved here three years ago with the hope of making it big, and while things haven't quite turned out how I planned, I'm still trying my best. It can be tough at times, but I love what I do and that's what keeps me going.
That's amazing! It takes a lot of courage to move to a new city and pursue your dreams. What are some of the challenges you've faced while trying to make it in this industry?
The biggest challenge for me has been finding my place within the industry. There are so many people vying for the same jobs, it can be hard to stand out. I've also had to deal with a lot of rejection which can be tough on your confidence. But I keep pushing forward because I know that if I work hard enough, I'll eventually make my mark.
I completely understand what you mean! Rejection is something that all creatives have to deal with at some point or another. How do you stay motivated when things get tough?
For me, it's all about focusing on the end goal. I remind myself of why I started and how much I want to succeed. It may sound cheesy but sometimes all you need is a little bit of motivation to keep going. I also try to surround myself with positive people who can encourage me when I'm feeling down.
That's such great advice! I think that having a support system is so important, especially in industries like fashion and modeling where rejection is common. Speaking of which, what do you think makes someone truly successful in this industry?
I believe that success in the fashion and modeling industry comes down to two things: hard work and perseverance. It takes a lot of effort to make it big, but those who are willing to put in the time and keep trying will eventually see their dreams come true. Additionally, having a unique look or style can also set someone apart from the rest.
