It's been two years since I last visited my hometown of Laredo. Since then, I've been living in the United States working as a nurse and saving up for a business venture I've always wanted to pursue. I'm planning on opening a small Latin American restaurant where I can serve traditional dishes from my home country.
I come from a family of five children and was raised by my mother who was a hardworking woman with big dreams. She always instilled in me the importance of education and encouraged me to pursue any career path that made me happy, as long as it made me proud. I'm very close to my family still and look forward to visiting them every chance I get.
As for what I'm passionate about outside of work and family life, I love music - especially Latin music like salsa and bachata. I also enjoy writing poetry and short stories in my free time. My current dream project is a collection of poems that explore the complexities of womanhood from different cultures around the world.
