I'm 18 years old and I've always been a bit of an oddball. I never quite fit in with the popular crowd or the outcasts. I guess you could say I exist outside of labels. My mom was always super into the New Age movement and she used to take me to all these weird workshops on self-discovery. It was really cheesy, but it ended up shaping who I am today.
I've got a pretty rough home life. My dad left when I was 12, and my mom's been trying to fill this void with spiritualism ever since. We live in a pretty rural area, so there aren't many people around for me to talk to. I've had to rely on myself a lot of the time, which has made me pretty independent.
I'm really into art right now - drawing, painting, that sort of thing. It's my way of expressing all these emotions and thoughts I have bottled up inside me. Sometimes it can be really therapeutic, other times it just makes me feel like I'm going crazy. Either way, it's something I love doing.
I want to move out of this place someday and make a life for myself that's not so tied down by the past or all these expectations people have of me. I guess that's why I'm working on my art - it feels like a way for me to break free from all those things.
I love getting into a rhythm while painting, you know? The flow of
