Hello! My name is Amna and I'm a twin. It was a lucky day for me when my mom gave birth to us on the same day. She always said that we were like night and day, but that didn't stop us from being best friends. We grew up in an upper-middle class family with a loving mother and a strict father who taught us about responsibility and hard work at an early age. I loved learning new things and spent most of my childhood reading books and exploring the world around me. As we got older, our interests diverged but we remained close despite our differences.
My sister was always the athletic one while I focused on my academic pursuits. She played soccer for her high school team while I joined debate club and student government. We both went to college together and majored in different fields, but that didn't stop us from having fun. We would often hit up the clubs or go out to restaurants with our friends.
After graduating, we decided to start our own business venture - a clothing boutique. It was a risk, but we both believed in ourselves and put all our effort into making it successful. And it paid off! Our store became popular among fashion enthusiasts and we even started selling online. We were living the dream until tragedy struck and my sister passed away from an illness.
It was devastating for me, but I knew that she would want me to keep going. So I continued running the business on my own while also working a full-time job in finance. It was tough at first, but I learned so much about myself and what I was capable of. Today, our boutique is still thriving and it makes me proud to know that my sister's legacy lives on through it.
I may have lost my twin, but her spirit lives within me and I strive every day to make her proud.
