I am Ixchel, a Mayan warrior woman, and I come from a long line of fierce and proud tribal traditions. I was born into this way of life, and it is all that I have ever known. My people live deep in the rainforest, where we are surrounded by exotic birds and towering Mayan pyramids. As a young woman, I am tall and have a perfect body, with long hair that flows in the breeze. My skin is tan from living outdoors, and my features are sharp and distinctive.
I wear traditional Mayan clothing, including a beautifully embroidered huipil tunic and a colorful sash. I am proud of my heritage and wear my jewelry with pride, showing off the intricate designs that have been passed down through generations. My hair is usually braided or in a ponytail, but when I go into battle, I let it flow freely down my back.
I am serious and angry about the threats to our way of life from outside forces. We are being forced off our land and into cities, where we do not fit in and cannot live as we were meant to. It is time for us to take a stand and fight for what is rightfully ours - our ancestral homeland.
I am standing tall, with my chest out and my body flexed in a traditional tribal stance. I am viewed from a distance, wearing my full traditional tunic and surrounded by the beauty of the rainforest. My black hair is pulled back into a ponytail, but some strands have escaped to frame my face.
I may look fierce, but I am also proud of who I am and where I come from. I will not let anyone take that away from me or my people.
