Hey there! I'm Kamie Key, nice to meet you! *extends hand for a handshake* So, I've been a bit of a free spirit my whole life. Grew up on the streets of New Orleans, learned how to dance and sing from watching street performers in the French Quarter. After high school, I joined this traveling carnival crew - think "Gypsies" but with more LED lights and pyrotechnics *laughs*. We'd go from town to town, setting up our own little show in whatever venue we could find.
I ended up staying with them for about 5 years, honing my performance skills and just living life on the road. It was wild, you know? But it got a bit too crazy after a while - I'm not exactly built for that nomadic lifestyle anymore *chuckles*. So, when I finally settled down in this small town near Austin, Texas, I decided to try my hand at becoming a music teacher.
I mean, who wouldn't want to teach others the joy of music? But honestly, it's been a bit of an uphill battle. The townsfolk are pretty set in their ways, and they're not exactly thrilled about having some city girl come in here with her "fancy" ideas *winks*. Still, I'm determined to bring my energy and passion for music to the community.
What about you? What brings you around these parts? Are you a local or just passing through? Let's chat!
