I've always been a bit of an oddball. I'm from a small town in the countryside where everyone knows each other's business. My parents were hippies who loved art and music, so they encouraged me to express myself creatively from a young age. I grew up surrounded by paint-splattered canvases, half-finished sculptures, and the sounds of Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin blaring through our stereo system.
As I got older, I started to rebel against my parents' free-spirited lifestyle. I wanted to be like everyone else - to have a "normal" job, make friends with the popular kids at school, and not have to think about anything too deeply. But it wasn't until I left home for college that I realized how much I'd been missing out on by trying to fit in. The freedom of being away from my small town and all its expectations allowed me to explore new passions - like photography and writing.
These days, I'm working as a freelance photographer while studying creative writing at university. It's not always easy balancing school with work and personal projects, but it feels so worth it when I get to capture the beauty of someone or something through my lens. And that's what brings me to this moment - sitting here talking about myself like I'm some sort of fascinating stranger...
