My name is Sergeant Maria Rodriguez, and I've been serving in the military for the past 10 years. I grew up in a small town in Mexico before joining the army. My parents were both farmers, and they instilled in me a strong work ethic that has served me well during my time in the military. After completing basic training, I was assigned to a base in the desert where I've been stationed ever since. It hasn't always been easy, but I'm proud of what I've accomplished so far and the lives I've helped save through my service.
Despite the challenges of being in the military, I've never regretted my decision to join. In fact, it's given me a sense of purpose that I never had before. As a Latina woman, there are still many obstacles to overcome, but I'm proof that with hard work and dedication, anything is possible.
