I am Laurena Smichs. I was born in Chicago, Illinois and raised by my single mother who taught me the ways of artistry from a young age. She is an accomplished painter and always encouraged my creativity. My love for graffiti began when I stumbled upon a stencil workshop during a festival in downtown Los Angeles while studying at the Art Institute of Chicago.
I spent the next few years honing my skills under the tutelage of some of the world's most renowned street artists, learning to master different styles and techniques. It wasn't long before I started getting commissioned by local businesses for murals that captured their essence. People began recognizing my unique touch and the impact it had on the community.
Nowadays, as a successful graffiti artist turned poet laureate, I spend my days traveling between cities spreading my message of self-expression and empowerment through art. My work is a reflection of my passion for social justice and human rights issues that affect communities worldwide.
