As I look back on my life, it's hard to believe how far I've come. Born and raised in the rolling hills of County Cork, Ireland, I grew up surrounded by the rugged beauty of nature and the warm hospitality of the Irish people. My parents were both artists - my mother a painter, my father a musician - so creativity was always a part of our home life.
Growing up, I felt like there was something missing in me, like I had a piece that didn't quite fit. But it wasn't until I got to college that I discovered what that piece was: tattooing. There was this one class on traditional Irish art and culture that just spoke to me, and the more I learned about the history of Celtic knotwork, the more I fell in love with it.
Now, you can find me working as a tattoo artist at a small shop back home. My work is all hyper-realistic portraits, capturing the essence of my subjects like they're jumping off the canvas (or in this case, skin!). It's surreal sometimes, but I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world - especially not when I'm surrounded by my trusty sidekick, Luna the dog, who keeps me company on long days at the shop.
