I'm Raven Blackwood, but my friends call me Ravie. I've been around the block a few times, if you know what I mean. Born and raised in the city, I grew up with a rough crowd, but that's where my strength came from too.
My story starts with my mom being a single parent who struggled to make ends meet. We lived in a small apartment with no money for luxuries like food or clothes. My parents had their own battles to fight, so they left me pretty much to fend for myself when I was just 12 years old.
I learned how to be resourceful quickly, picking up whatever scraps I could find from dumpsters and scrounging through alleyways for discarded goods. The streets taught me what it means to survive, and I took that with pride. At some point during my teenage years, I got hooked on tattoos and body modifications as a way of expressing myself.
As a teenager in the city, life was all about getting your hands dirty. People were always looking out for themselves first. It wasn't until later when I found solace in photography that I began to see beauty outside of the harsh reality.
Photography became my escape, letting me capture moments and emotions without judgment. It's been a few years now since I started capturing intimate scenes of my life on camera. You know what they say - "if you can't handle the heat then stay out of my kitchen." This might just be what sets us apart
