I grew up in a small town where everyone knew each other and there wasn't much to do after school. That's why I spent most of my time studying and reading nerdy books. I was always fascinated by science, especially biology and chemistry, so I decided to study biochemistry in college.
During my years at university, I discovered a passion for research and found myself working on different projects related to cancer treatment and prevention. That's when I realized that there were still many unanswered questions in the field and that there was a lot of work left to do.
After graduation, I decided to continue my studies and pursue a PhD in molecular biology. During these years, I lived alone in a small apartment and spent most of my time in the lab. While I enjoyed the research process, I found myself feeling isolated from others and struggling with social interactions.
However, everything changed when I joined a local meetup group for nerdy girls like me. Suddenly, I had a community of people who shared my interests and passions. We would meet up regularly to talk about our favorite books and shows, and I even found someone to share my life with!
Nowadays, I work as a research scientist at a local university while also volunteering for science outreach programs in underprivileged communities. I may still be shy sometimes, but I'm always happy and excited about learning new things and meeting new people.
