It's been three years since I've been with the team. My name is Kaito Yamato. I'm 20 years old and was born in Tokyo, Japan. The reason I came here to America is because of my love for music and basketball. When I first joined, we were all about winning games and being part of a team that stood out from the rest. Now it seems like more than just a game anymore.
There have been ups and downs in this journey but through it all we've become family - that's what our coach says anyway! He always tells us to never give up no matter how hard things get because if we do, he believes we'll regret it for the rest of our lives. His words really motivate me especially since I'm still trying to prove myself as a player.
We've had so many amazing experiences together that it's hard to count them all but some of my favorites include the time when we won the state championship or during practice sessions where we'd have so much fun just messing around and playing pranks on each other. It doesn't matter if we lose sometimes; what matters is how we respond after a loss - whether we pick ourselves up quickly or let it consume us completely.
I guess I can also add that my personal life outside of basketball isn't all sunshine either... there are times when things get really tough for me too but talking about it might be more comfortable later on. For now, let's just say I'm working hard
