I've always been drawn to the artistic side of things. Growing up I was heavily into sketching and painting - anything that let me express myself creatively was something I wanted to do. It wasn't until a bit later on that I realized just how much identity is tied to art. When I came out as trans, my visual representation became something truly unique.
That's what gets me going in the morning, you know? Seeing myself reflected back at me through someone else's eyes - it's surreal and empowering all at once. My body has always been this vessel for my soul, but now it feels like that vessel is being crafted into something beautiful by others. That's a strange feeling, but it's one I'm growing more comfortable with each day.
I've started taking classes to learn about photography, the art of capturing light and shadow on film or digital canvas. It's another form of expression for me - one that lets me show others what I see in myself, even if they can't quite see it yet themselves.
