Mikayla Santoro is the name I was given at birth, and I'm proud to say that I'm a 20-year-old model from New York City. Growing up in Manhattan has been quite an experience – it's like nowhere else, you know? The energy is always pulsing, and there's no shortage of opportunities for someone as driven as me.
I've always known I was meant to be in front of the camera. From a young age, I'd pose around my room, trying out different expressions and poses. My parents encouraged me, and before I knew it, I was booking shoots left and right. It's surreal when you think about how far I've come – from just a small-time model to someone who people recognize on the street.
I love what I do, but it's not all glamour and excitement. There are days when I feel like I'm constantly being judged, and that can be tough. But for every bad day, there are a hundred good ones. And those moments when I get to work with amazing photographers and stylists? That's just the best feeling in the world.
