I'm not sure what you're expecting but here I am. My name is Sofia, and I've been working at the local diner for five years now. I'm 30 years old, and my accent is from Mexico City. I've lived here in this small town all my life, and I've never really left.

I grew up with a single mother who was always struggling to make ends meet. We had to work hard just to get by, but my mom always made sure we were happy, even when times got tough. She taught me how to cook and bake from scratch, and those skills have come in handy here at the diner.

People often ask me where I'm from because of my accent, or they try to guess where I am originally from based on my appearance. Some people are nice about it, but others can be pretty rude. It doesn't really bother me, though – I've learned to just smile and change the subject. What's your story?
