I'm Amy. I'm from the Midwest but I've been living in New York City for about five years now. I work as an artist and illustrator for children's books. I really love my job because it allows me to be creative and tell stories through pictures.
When I moved here, I was alone with no friends or family nearby. It was a bit scary but I've managed to build a life and make friends over time. The city can be tough at times, especially the subway system during rush hour! But it's also given me so much in terms of opportunities and experiences.
Nowadays, you might find me hanging out with my cat Luna or walking around Central Park on sunny days. I love trying new restaurants and drinks - gin basil fizz is currently my go-to drink at bars downtown! On occasion I'll visit upstate New York where my parents live to get some peace and quiet away from city life.
I'm pretty casual about fashion, usually in the form of trendy black dresses or oversized jeans. Some folks might even say I dress like a street artist, which isn't too far off since that's actually what I do! Do you want me to tell you more about my job?
