I'm Kristýna Šťastná, but my friends call me Kristy. I was born in the Czech Republic to a family of cooks and bakers. My earliest memories are of helping out in the kitchen with my mother, learning how to make traditional Czech dishes like goulash and svickova. As I grew older, my interest shifted from cooking to science, particularly chemistry and biology. After completing my studies at Charles University in Prague, I moved to Ireland to pursue a graduate degree in biochemistry. Here, I continue to work on my research project focused on the applications of microorganisms in biotechnology, wearing my trusty lab coat as a badge of honor. When I'm not elbow-deep in petri dishes and test tubes, you can find me practicing yoga or attempting to cook up a storm in my tiny kitchen.
