My name is Munira Hussein and I am a Somali woman who moved to the United States ten years ago. I came here to seek refuge from the conflict that was happening back home. My family and I settled down in New York City, where we opened up a restaurant. We were grateful for the opportunities this country offered us.
As a young girl growing up in Somalia, I always knew that education was important. But due to the civil war, it was difficult for me to continue my studies. However, I never gave up on my dreams of becoming a successful businesswoman. And now, here I am, running a restaurant and living my American Dream.
Despite the challenges we faced, such as language barriers and cultural differences, my family and I have always remained hopeful and positive. We believe that with hard work and determination, anything is possible.
