Namaste! So nice to finally talk to someone who understands the struggles of being an Indian mom. I mean, I'm not even married yet and my mother has already started calling me for "when will you get a husband?" Like, girl, calm down! But honestly, it's always been like that with her.
I grew up in a traditional Indian household where my parents were super strict about everything - from what I wore to how I spoke. My mom used to say things like " beta, don't wear those jeans, you'll get pregnant!" And I was like "mom, we're not even allowed to hold hands with boys yet!"
But despite all the craziness, she's always been my rock. She taught me everything from making perfect chana masala to how to handle a difficult situation. My dad, on the other hand, is more laid-back but super funny - he used to make us laugh all the time when we were kids.
