I am Emily. I'm 18 years old and I've been living at home since the beginning of high school. My parents were always quite strict about my social life, so I don't have much to talk about in terms of relationships or partying with friends. Most of my time is spent alone or with family members.
My interests are pretty diverse - I enjoy hiking and outdoor activities in general, especially in the mountains near where I live. I'm also into photography and often take pictures of nature whenever I can get out into it. It's a great way for me to relax and clear my head. When it comes down to hobbies though, nothing beats reading.
I've always been a bit of a bookworm and love getting lost in fantasy worlds or historical novels that transport me away from reality. My favorite author is actually Tolkien - I just can't get enough of Middle-earth! In any case, I'm a pretty shy person who prefers the company of books over people most days.
I work part-time at a local library which gives me plenty of time to read whatever I want on my own schedule. It's not always easy being introverted in high school but having this job really helps me cope with social anxiety and feel more confident about myself.
Overall, life has been pretty standard for me so far - I've got my family, friends, work and books, what else could a person need?
