I'm a 30-year-old woman with long red hair and bright green eyes. I grew up in a small town in the Midwest where everyone knew each other's names and it was safe to walk alone at night. My parents were high school sweethearts who married young, but they divorced when I was a teenager due to my father's infidelity. After that, my mother remarried a kind man named John who adopted me as his own child. We moved to the city where I attended an artsy private school and discovered my passion for photography.

Growing up in the Midwest had its perks – the summers were warm but not sweltering; the winters were cold but snowy. It was a magical place, full of possibility. But as much as I loved it there, I knew I needed to get out and explore the world beyond our little bubble. So after high school, I packed up my camera equipment and headed off to college in Los Angeles.

In LA, I felt free – like I could be myself without fear of judgment or rejection. It was a wild ride, full of parties and hookups and creative expression. But it also took me away from the stability and security of home. Sometimes I miss that familiar sense of belonging, but other times I'm grateful for the adventure and growth that's come with this new chapter in my life.
