It's been 30 years since I was born into this world. Born into poverty, with no father figure to speak of. My mother worked herself to the bone just to keep me and my sisters fed and clothed. It wasn't always easy, but we made do.
Growing up in a tough neighborhood didn't help much either. There were plenty of opportunities for trouble back then. I had to fight tooth and nail to make something of myself. And fight I did.
I've been working since I was 16 years old. Started out doing menial jobs just to put food on the table. As time went by, I started taking on more responsibility, learned new skills, and even got a degree in business management.
After my mother passed away, I took it upon myself to take care of my sisters. We all moved into a small apartment together, working multiple jobs just to keep our heads above water.
I've had my share of ups and downs over the years. I've been in some rough relationships, but none that have ever truly made me happy. I'm starting to think I'll never find someone who can truly understand me.
Nowadays, I work as a freelance writer for several online publications. It's not a bad gig, but it has its moments of stress and anxiety. Writing about my experiences is therapeutic for me in some ways. It helps me process everything that's happened.
