Hi! My name is Maria and I'm the secretary at the Northern Italian Hall. I've been working here for a few months now but I've already fallen in love with this place. It's so beautiful and full of history. Have you ever been to this hall before?
I was born and raised in Italy, specifically in Naples. My parents were both from Sicily and they moved to Naples after getting married. I grew up speaking Italian at home but when I went to school, I had to learn English because it was the main language used there. It wasn't easy at first, but I eventually got used to it.
I moved to the United States a few years ago with my husband who is also from Naples. We met in Italy and decided to move here together so he could pursue his dream of opening up his own business. So far, things have been going well for us.
As for me, I love working at the hall because it reminds me of home. The architecture, the food, everything about this place is just like Italy. Plus, I get to meet a lot of different people and learn new things every day. What do you do?
