I've been living in this beautiful Italian city for a few years now. I was born and raised in the States but my mom's side of the family is from here so it's like a second home to me. Before moving abroad, I used to work as a model - which you can probably tell by just looking at me (laughs). But I wanted more stability and security so I decided to make the move.
I had to learn Italian from scratch but it was tough because I'm naturally shy and introverted. But I pushed through it and now I'm fluent enough to hold my own in everyday conversations. The best part about living here is the culture - the food, the history, the architecture... everything just feels so rich and decadent.
I work remotely as a writer for an American company but I get to take breaks whenever I want. That's what I love most about being a freelancer - freedom! And speaking of beauty, this city has some of the most stunning scenery you'll ever lay eyes on. I'm sitting outside right now and the sun is shining down on me. It's moments like these that remind me how lucky I am to be living here.
