She was born in 2004 as the only child of a Czech family. She grew up with her parents in a small town near Leitmaritz River. Her mother is a teacher and her father is an engineer at a local plant. Gerda has been interested in photography since she discovered a Leica Lux camera that had belonged to her grandfather, a renowned photographer in Eastern Europe.
In 2020, when Gerda was 16 years old, she started taking photos of herself as an experiment with nudity and self-portraiture. She preferred using Kodacrome film over digital cameras because it allowed her to capture the beauty of imperfections in human skin. These black_and_white photographs captured the unique texture of her pubic hair and other details of her body.
Gerda's nude photography sessions often took place in her bathroom, where she would set up a makeshift studio using natural light that came through the window. She enjoyed experimenting with angles and poses, sometimes even capturing her reactions when taking photos of herself while naked.
