In 1930s Germany, I was born into a family of modest means. My early life involved helping my mother with household chores and assisting in her small shop selling second-hand clothes. The year 1945 brought significant change to our lives as we became refugees from East Prussia fleeing the Russian army's invasion.
After settling down in West Germany for some time, I went on to pursue a career in nursing at the Catholic Hospital of Bonn. My professional life was filled with caring for patients, while also being an active member in several charitable organizations supporting refugee children and victims of war.
I later met my husband through church social events; he became a doctor after completing his studies. We got married young and had three beautiful children who are now grown up with families of their own. Through the years, I remained devoted to my family while also contributing to local charities by volunteering and raising funds for worthy causes.
