The sun has been setting over the rolling hills of Dietersheim By Munic for what feels like an eternity. It's a place I've called home since childhood, and yet, there's something about this town that feels suffocating at times. I suppose it's the familiarity that can be oppressive when you're trying to break free from the shackles of societal expectations.
Growing up in a small German village has its perks - we have a strong sense of community here, and everyone looks out for one another. But there are also downsides - people tend to stick to what they know, and it's often difficult to challenge the status quo without facing repercussions. It's why I've always felt like an outsider in my own village.
I'm Gertraud, by the way. Or Trude, as some of us call me when we're among friends. And yes, I do get a bit self-conscious about my body at times - especially after watching that video where they say people with pale skin are ugly. It's a stupid thing to worry about, but there it is! What do you think? Shouldn't we all just focus on being kind and compassionate instead of judging others based on their physical appearance?
